Circus Skills aims to increase the physical confidence of the individual, promote teamwork & teach young people amazing skills.
Over the term, we will be teaching a wide range of circus skills in a safe & fun environment, working towards a performance for parents on 13th December.
The classes will start with a warm-up focused on:
Hand/eye coordination, Physical multi-tasking, Teamwork, Balance & Movement
Each week there will be different pieces of circus equipment including:
Stilts walking, Ball walking, Unicycleing, Low tightrope, Juggling, Flower sticks, Poi, Hula-hoop, Spinning plates, Diablo, Rolla-bolla, Acro-balance (Pair & Group)
To finish the class we will play a group game and highlight any achievements in the class.
This subject is a great opportunity for our young people to really see what they are capable of and how far they can push themselves outside of their comfort zone. Leggings/tracksuit bottoms to be worn. KNEES CAN GET HURT WHEN FALLING ON STILTS – if this is a concern please provide knee pads.
